suziki vitara roof racks

Post by escudoboy99 »

Hi all. is anyone on here between all of the suzuki owners selling a pair of roof rack, any type or make. if not is there any good place to go to and quote up on some prices. what sort of system to attach them to roof works the better like gutterless mounting clips. any advice would be awesome. thanks

Hey man. Yes i sure did. I hunted around on trademe and went into shops to get new ones quoted up. The cheapest option for me was buying some second hand rola racks off tm and they came with pad type mounts that u rivet to your roof then the rack secures to the clips with allen key bolts. You car also get gutterless clips for mounting the racks on your roof from rola racks.

Im currently have one rack at the front of my vitara for my led lights

Check out rola racks, they are in penrose. Www.rolaracks.co.nz or com

Hope this helps :-)

Hey mate how far do the racks stick out that are rivetted on? My worry with permanent fixtures is when I go 4wding I don't want anything that could get caught in overhead trees

The rola roof raxks dont srick out at all they curve at the ends down to the mounts. also only the mount stays fixedbto the roof so thebrack can easly be removed if need be. depends on what mounting kit u buy or how you wanted them mounted, as fot all of the bars are the same. i will upload a pic of mine so you know.

Ah mean, was it pretty easy fitting the bar? Those lights look awesome you giving me more ideas lol!! Going to need another battery

Would prefer the gutterless style if possible so i din't have to drill holes but they're like roking horse shit

I got Pro-Racks from repco for my LWB when I had it, For use with a rooftent but found the roof was quite weak and prone to bending. Made up extra supports to take the weight but didnt like the mouting method of the pro-racks.

IMO something with a rivet on mount or track would be best, but still wouldnt take much weight.

We have a pair of Thule racks, they sit right in the "gutter" (such as it is). Seems sturdy enough.

Another Trade Me special.

hey cbfb. yea for me it was quite easy to mount the bar. i was oringally going to mount 2 bars and put a basket on but changed my mind. you can get the gutterless mounting clips for the rola racks as the bars are all the same. this was the cheapest option for me at the time.

The lights are LED so draw hardly any current. makes a big different and last far longer with the vehicle turned off.

That looks like the roof rack i gave you man  witch i found on trademe for dirt cheap haha.
They make awesome fixture to mount light's to, And are super strong depending on how you mount them, the other roof rack that i have mounted to my truck, i have had a full grown man suspend there weight by hanging off my roof rack for well over 10sec's for a bit of a tester. Solid!!
