Simplest way is to redrill the holes in the spring seats, 1 side often has 3 holes already. Then lengthen drag link and torque rod to suit

Awesome I've started a trend 8) :?

If you end up having to move your engine mounts back slightly I recomend bending down the top tab to so they are welded higher up the chassis to lift the engine 25mm ish you will see what I mean in my thread, I read the torque rod mount on diff can foul on the oil filter im hoping mine wont, other than that it should be plain sailing your clutch line is where it needs to be, the diesel lines are the right size, the engine bolts straight in just mite be to far forward, I havn't seen the diesel diagram but you should be able to change your glow plug main feed fuse to 20A and set it up to be the 12v feed for efi? your fuel solenoid wire could prob do coil feed or trigger the efi relay? depending on how big it is.
what part of the country are you in? any questions just ask.

Thanks Stu

I found mine wasn't even that bad without the torque rod (which I took off since its only a trailer truck now, tho i did have it on the road without one for a while too), but I guess you could relocate the mount somehow and lengthen it if need be or go x-over steer and throw it away :)
Mines probably wired similar to bigstu's being factory petrol, but hes probably on the right track there. If yours has the early type external regulated alternator then you will need to add a new thicker 'charge' wire in to the battery anyway, I found the old one was plenty big enough to run all the EFI gear and pump just add an extra fusebox and relays to it. My coil and igniter pack is fed straight off the old coil supply since its in the right place already.
Just a tip, Im not sure if the 3RZ runs an external igniter (Mines a 4Y-E but most toyota EFI is setup very similar), but don't be fooled by a lot of instructions I've seen, the black wire is NOT the earth, its the tacho output (which won't work with a diesel gauge cluster anyway from what I've heard), the igniter is earthed thru its mounting bolts. I've got all the Toyota official general EFI tech-docs, since info and diagrams on the 3Y/4Y-E are impossible to find, and still managed to work mine out from the chopped up loom remains I got with the setup so you'll be fine :)

yes that is the body loom plug they must have just unpluged it but they should have cut that so you can join wires to it.

Just take your ecu to pickapart etc and grab a plug that will fit, there's not that many types that Toyota used, I needed one for mine, think I got it out of a 3sge Celica or something

Like I was going to run a inline pump with my diesel tank and have it wired up so that it always ran when the key was in the on position or should I run it through the efi relay way to be on the safe side

You should install a tachometric relay to drive the fuel pump so that it primes on key on and then will only run if the motor is firing. You definitely don't want the pump running all the time!

Kelvin on trade me has them listed for the 1uz crowd.

The setup I have used is as close to factory as I could get, I have a circuit opening relay out of an ae92 fxgt payed $5 it gets its main feed from the 20A efi feed, and has two triggers the starter position on key and the air flow sensor so will only run if the engine is going, for the fuel pump I got a yn61 fuel tank it has the pump already in it for $50 it bolts straight in.

I know people get away with just using inline efi pumps but they are not very good at sucking fuel
for my old surf that I put a 5mge into I used a VL commodore intank and inline pump setup heres a link to the very tidy setup I copied as you will see its very easy to do and looks great.

Man I wish I'd seen that setup before I did mine, good way to get the wires thru the tank lid. Rest basically the same tho except I used a V6 vitara pump as it also JUST fits thru the hole in the tank

How do you go about getting the idle valve off and pulled apart? mine idles around 1200rpm, As for photos Im not sure if its the right or wrong way but it works but I opened a free photo bucket account uploaded the photos to it, then in your library theres a box with different links I copy and paste the IMG link to my thread, hope that helps.

U have to drain the water from the motor Unbolted the throttle body from the intake (two 12mm nuts and two 12mm bolts) there are two water lines that run under the throttle body to the idle valve then there are 4 little screws that u need to take off to clean the idle valve(be mindful of the rubber odd shaped gasket in there). mine was stuck open couldn't even twist it close was blocked with carbon tar looking stuff gave it a good clean with brake lean and was good as gold .took my truck out this weekend with few mates truck went awesome best thing I could have done for my truck was do this conversion
