Re: ls1 80 series
Hey guys, I'm new to the site. Found it from reading this thread I found on the net... I know it's a major thread mining situation, but! What the hell happened to this beast? Did it get finished? All this hype and it just vanishes haha
I'm interested as I'm looking at doing the same conversion minus the turbos.
Surely someone knows what happened to it?

Say an 80 with ls1 and twin turbos in a chch workshop a few weeks ago.
No details though.

Re: ls1 80 series
Mitch's old truck is in Christchurch at the moment, it's being built up to tow the challenge truck Jono's building, and for general play, but maybe not so tough a tracks as my old 80 was is used for (has been on trade me for sale if any one is interested, 91 model vx, 210km 4.2 12valve, every thing done to it, $14k, no dick heads please)
Since it's been down here, it's had Nitro gear treatment on crown, pinion, axels and cv's. ARB difflocks, going through cert at moment, will be certed with 17" beadlocks with 37" KM2's (they don't even look big on it).
Having a few probs with the engine tune, massive over fueling (ox sensor not working)(and a few tweaks of other sensors) hopefully might be back on the dyno tomorrow.
These are the only pic I have, picked these up last fri and Rick taught me how to mount the tyres and balance. (don't put your finger between the outer and inner when you first tighten with the air gun - it's fregging sore, when it's clamped in there)
Hope you like the beadlocks pattern, I can give it to any one who ask's - also have a more aggressive one going on to the winch truck. GOD winch's kick arse
