about sway bar for nissan safari gq
does anyone still had front and rear sway bar on?
Re: about sway bar for nissan safari gq
I dont run them on the bush truck but do on my road gu which has a 6" lift and have adapted the rear electronic swaybar disconnect to suit
Re: about sway bar for nissan safari gq
Would be keen to borrow/buy a set of swaybars for cert purposes. (factory disco rear)
Re: about sway bar for nissan safari gq
How big is your lift , I can do extended links for them no problems ?
Re: about sway bar for nissan safari gq
I'm pretty sure I binned my ones, had a hunt at my parents place but only found Jeep TJ swaybars, not the GQ ones

Re: about sway bar for nissan safari gq
Don't worry about the front one as it does sweet FA anyway. My tow wagon has a 2" lift plus 33's and removed the front swaybar with virtually no noticeable difference, the rear one does definitely help. I'd even go further to say upgrading the rear if you have the disconects would be even better. Not sure where you'd get a bigger one from though?
You need to remember the the radius arm setup actually resists body roll anyway.

Nissan Terrano coilovers, turboed VH45, Safari axles, and some other stuff.

Who is doing the cert? I need one too but only have a rear sway bar, don't know if it is an issue yet.

Its better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

They are not required, its more to do with how the vehicle handles the on the road test.

I have been take off my front and rear sway bar , but i am not sure there will dangerous or not? (ps. i passed cert without sway bar)
Re: about sway bar for nissan safari gq
I just took it out of my SWB patrol and installed new Bilstien shocks - way way better. I think it allows more of that solid front axle style driving where if you hit a dip in the road the wheel just dips in and out of the hole instead of sucking the whole front end into the dip.

I have found its best to remove the front bar and leave the rear in and connected. Makes the front work better offroad.
If you have raised susp then just fit longer links to stop it binding early.
Also helps keep truck stable on the gravel and at speed off road.
