Ok so its time to replace the clutch, At 186,000km I guess its probably the original.
Truck is a 91 Escudo with the 1600 16 v MPI engine with 5 speed box. I do have plans to increase the power of the engine in the near future so would like to have something that isnt going to slip with a bit of extra power.
Has anyone used one of these? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-par ... 512044.htm At $215 shipped it seems pretty well priced but are they ok?
I have also just had a quote for $328 for OEM replacement.
Any other options out there?
Cheers
Clutch options
Re: Clutch options
From what I have read the best option is a standard Exedy, apparently the HD ones cause issues with snapped clutch cables. I ran a standard Exedy in my Samurai and never had any problems, handled the abuse that I gave it.

Re: Clutch options
There is a non hd version listed, the part number is at the top of the list same number without the hd bit.
Re: Clutch options
The SDK-6935 is just the name for the whole kit, and when i clicked on it the parts included in the kit show the HD part number. Cant get it to show up any other options.
Local supplier has the exedy one in stock for $230+gst which seems pretty good.

Re: Clutch options
Nothing helpful to add but always check the thickness of the plates .
It took 4.5 hours to drop box , replace the clutch and reinstall . Took 1.5 hours to drop the box and change the thrust bearing , reinstall the box . Finally it took 45mins to drop the box , replace the pressure plate and reinstall the box . All this in one day . On bro in laws floor , no hoist etc
Shows you what practice can do .

Re: Clutch options
Since your an expert now then..... Can you give me some tips on the removal? What to/not to do? Where to start? Do this before I bother to do that? etc etc.
Would be very handy
