repositioning leaf spring mounts

I'm repositioning spring mounts onto the lr chassis.
am I correct in thinking I should position the mount at a distance so that my shackles sit at about 60 degrees to the chassis with no weight on the spring ?
so that it can come round to near 45 at full droop and then stroke backward to near -45 under compression
