23rd & 24th Nov

Post by the quadfather »

Well, I'll start this one. Picked up the Safari from Toms Offroad&Customs. He's worked his magic with my snorkel. Dunno how to upload pics but here's the link to his FB page.

Played some more with my rear brake caliper swap....
After working out where I was going to put them realised that under full compression they look like they are going to hit the chassis....DOH.
So pulled out one of the coils and set it up again....
Will do the final fit when I do the chassis swap. But will work a treat !

been building a winch bar on the project safari so i can get to a warrent stage, then both the patrol and saf will be up for sale, then once the house is sold its moving back to the uk for us, after 8 years in nz and nissans it will be difficult going back to defenders, although i do look forward to all the big landy shows and trips over to europe etc.

spent the middle of the day today recovering 3 vehicles from the silt trap on the rangitikie river.

Just becuase it's not in flood and only knee deep in places people doesn't mean you should cross it people. there's a perfectly good bridge 500 meter's down stream

checked out the broken front diff mount on the hilux, not happy that it happened in the first place but looks like it's been on the cards for some time. Mount on chassis is bent and mount bolt pulled through hole on bracket. Was a great day tho.

Oh yeah painted the kitchen this morning, gotta keep those brownie points coming in
Yea, though I drive through the valley of death (and it's mudbogs), I shall fear no trail;for tho art modified is my rig, and thy lift kit and lockers they comfort me. Amen
