Universal Joint grease nipple mod

Sounds fancy but it aint, I replaced my rear UJ about 20k ago, only to have it fail even after giving a pump of grease every 5k.
As I was pushing the grease gun onto the nipple I could feel it click, but was happening was that it was hitting a casting ridge on the spider, not engaging the nipple liked I thought so when I pumped grease not all was going into the joints.
I just added a 45 deg nipple to the replacement so not dramas from now. The other alternative was to use the dremel and grind some clearance around the spider so the shroud for the grease gun wouldnt catch on it.

I take the outside of the head off my grease gun and push the pointed tip into the nipple, then pump until the old grease comes out of the joint.
Its a but awkward holding the tip there and pumping the grease, but at least I know universal joint is packed with grease.

I tried that but it became a pain, so now all nipples are aligned and easy to service from one spot underneath without trying to find them or move the drive shaft around to find the next one

Another option is using a needle point tip instead of a female fitting over the nipple. Although a needle fitting is easier to use when on a rigid pipe on the end of your grease gun.

Does the extra weight affect balance?

Very tidy mod though.

Thanks snotty, the small amount of weight so close to axis of rotation is small that its not an issue, Im so used to my 17yr old Lux on muddies that it could be out by alot and I wouldn't notice
