Brake Bleeding GQ Safari

Hi ORE,

Just wondering if anyone has experienced problems getting brake pressure back on their patrol/safari after swapping the diff/axle housing or at anytime really?

Basically to run it short, I've bleed the brakes alot starting from the rear brakes, left passenger to the driver side, then front passenger to the driver side. My pedal still goes to the floor. I've replaced the master cylinder with a brand new one yesterday, bled the brakes again in the above order and still the pedal hits the floor. I have noticed if I pump it up alot to get a bit of pressure behind the pedal once I stop sounds like there is an air leak; not a dribble or sign of a leak out of the brake lines.

Any help would be appreciated!

Did you bleed the Master Cylinder properly?
Normally it gets done on the bench... But you can do it on the truck...
Basically you direct the out lines back into the reservoir and keep pumping until there are no bubbles..

Have you bled the proportioning valve by the fuel tank,had a similar problem to you and bleeding this fixed it.

No haven't done both of those, will give them a crack tonight. Thanks heaps for the advice!

No improvement. All I can think of now is there must be a rupture in one of the rubber lines somewhere, but couldn't find any leaking signs?

Anyway the pedal or the booster could cause this? <--- I have very very little breaking come on when the pedal is at the floor, not enough to stop it moving on a slope though.

try clamping one brake hose at a time and see if that improves the brake pedal feel to narrow it down to the front or rear and go from there
