cracked my 1kz head what to do now?

any one have ideas as to wat to do. do I fix it or throw it away and repower it with something like a 5L v8?

Fix it go genuine head if you can
70 series prado (KZJ78) and 90 Series Prado (KZJ95)

Fix it with genuine Toyota head. It'll last you another 300+k's

second that. Fix it with genuine, get at least 2.5" exhaust from dump pipe out, get an egt gauge, bypass egr, external trans cooler, remove internal trans cooler, 4 core radiator with larger fin spacing to reduce clogging(optional), intercool if you can be bothered and you should have an awesome engine. Love my 1kz!

Ive done 100,000km plus on a Toyota replacement head. All good. :D

don't forget to check/fix/replace viscous fan hub

nathan @ kaipoi repowers does dump pipes

+1 to Genuine, however we have sold many after market heads too and had no issues to date, but if you are towing or wheeling I would recommend Genuine. We have a bare genuine head with head set and head bolts in stock if you are interested. PM or give us a call for info.

got 2.5" to dump pipe, would like to go 3" dump
