New seats for fj45

Post by Heath »

Anyone have suggestions for alternative seats for an FJ45.

The ones fitted to my project were stuffed (rusty and falling to bits) so I biffed them in the nearest bin. Unfortunately (or fortunately) now I have to find a replacement.

With the roof being chopped they will have to be low fitting and preferably more old school bucket than race seat. Looking at Toyota and Subaru Nissan sports type seats so far and have to figure out if they will fit the old 45 seat rails. Some nice leather ones would be cool but not necessary (so would heated seats but they might be too flash for my ole 45 rod.

Something like these I guess. Anyone used something similar?

Oh yeah and I'd like to pay as little as possible of course

Do you really want bucket seats, modern ones at that?

Surely if it's old school cool you're going for you want the original split bench?

Anyway heres a bit of inspiration, both new and old styles in these threads

Ole school bench would be cool but not for long drives - not the most comfortable padding for my old bones.

OMG!!!

Did you see that? They've exchanged the head light for an after market one! Totally ruined it.

I figure some less sporty buckets will be okay, of course I could get some more padding put into a std set but the cost (buy em and fix em) would be more than a second hand set of newer ones.
