hilux front axle supports???

Post by philux »

Well me and a mate just finished doing a suspension lift to my ln106 hilux, then noticed the front ubolt on the rhs was bent and so was the plate!!! Seems to bee a slight bend upwards in the axle support towards the front, is this right or is it ment to be flat/straight?? could that explain why the ubolt plate bent aswell the ubolt. Any info would be really good!!!!

gussets??? Its the drivers side front ubolt, the other one is sweet. Seemed to happen when we were torquing up the new ubolts, but it seemed to take alot longer to click than what the rest did and thats when we noticed :(

Did you fit new ubolts? If not the old ones might have stretched causing you problems when you torqued them back up.

Cheers
Matt.

don't stress it... the spring seat on the on this side is a nasty cast steel affiar ... you'd bend the axle housing first

If the U bolts start sliding for the front then from the bend in the bottom or more likly twisting sideways then take em off belt it back into shape and gusset teh front and rear ends (weld a bit of flat stock in the ends to reinforce it and put a couple of spot welds on the outside edge next to wheere teh ubolts sit to stop them sliding out

Cheers Reece
