I recall the Landy was owned by a Mr Gilbert Reeves, a retired gent and usually when it was parked there it meant he was across the estuary savouring the local pub's contents. I used to fish off the jetty as any kid did then and i can remember him regularly stumbling off the ferry (pictured) and just making it to the vehicle, starting it, almost driving it forward off the end of the jetty before finding reverse, turning around and in what must have been a complete haze slowly making for home! I don't think the machine ever did any hard work in this part of its life.
I can recall though how the Landy would always be there, all day and whenever i poked my beedie kid's eyes inside it i recall the keys were always there left hanging in the ignition. Boy people were trusting back then.
I wonder now what happened to the machine....
