Safari rear cooler box removal?

Post by Ant »

Has anyone removed this unit from the back of a LWB safari? it takes up quite a bit of room and camping for a week with a couple of kids I need all the room i can get.....Im guessing it has its own condenser unit and high pressure hoses running to it from the compressor as its a huge box with a very small space for cooling anything. I know nothing about A/C units so not sure what will be involved with removal (and still retaining my A/C). The gains are not going to be massive so if its gonna be a major job then its probably not going to be worth it. Just thought I would ask

Front and rear share a compressor and condenser, easier to leave it in. Use mine as a camper too but would always retain the fridge. Can fit a queen matress in the back easily enough, keeping the fridge.

you can pay $1500 or more for a arb fridge or get one with your truck, if I had one I would keep the sucker in there
