On a more serious note, how much rust is in the lux body? and what generation?

Re: Toysafari project
well this update is well overdue, havent done a great deal on the build but i have done something. parts that i have or are turning up are the lux body (still to arrive) bellhousing to mate the motor and gearbox (thats here) big ball joint for the rear A arm that is still in the thought process( thats here) other than that i need to spend more time on the build to get further.
here is the bellhousing from aussi, 'dellows conversions'.

here is a pic of it all together.

the rear sump off an FG arrived needs cutting and making deeper and changing the turbo oil return as the FG sump doesnt fit in between the splash guards on the bottom of the motor.

made some engine mounts, took a long time even though it doesnt look like much, i moved the motor back 100mm from the standard safari motor position. for better weight and sump clearance. the gearbox is mounted by the standard mounts but it was moved up by 40mm to make a flat bottomed chassis.

also here is a pic of the ballistic joint (ball joint) that will hold the rear A arm to the diff. it is fully rebuildable, and has grease nipples to keep it lubricated.

Re: Toysafari project
well not much has happened on the project, seem to have lots of things to do, but i did get a little done on the long weekend.
did a bit more burning, now both sides of the chassis extension are welded. takes a long time when you have to keep waiting for the welder to cool down.

i also raised the front spring and shock towers 50mm to match the rear. they still need a bit more welding and bracing, but they are in place.

this is the safari turbo stuff ready to go on my road truck which should happen this weekend.
