SJ413 engine rebuild in CHCH

Hello,

The G13a engine in my SJ413 has shat itself - literally. Water pissing out the exhaust. Pulled off the head to get it inspected before I put in a new gasket, and found one of the cyclinders was pitted.

Any recommendations on who can do a bore, hone, and rebuild in the CHCH area? Want a proffessional job, some extra hp out of it, and a reasonable price.

I'm new to zooks so don't quote me on this, mine doesnt even have an engine in yet, but I believe the cylinder linings are quite thin, and overboring is a sketchy exercise. I do know the 1600 block fits under the 1300 head if your heads ok?

If it were mine I'd be sourcing a carby 8v 1600 engine from a vitara. Then chasing BenT down to get an install/conversion kit.

8V will take the g13 manifolds if you dont get them with the engine. The 1300 heads have smaller valves than the 8V head from the 1600 so will limit the power/torque (lest face it you want as much out of these donks as you can get).

Do yourself a favour and go for the "big Block". When you throw some 31's under the zook it will need some extra grunt to spin em.

I have a G16B with ECU and Wiring Loom I just brought back from OZ. I have the Gearbox Adaptor Plate and Engine Mounts to suit the Samurai, Gearbox, Exedy Clutch and Chain Drive Transfer Case. Purchased it from Suzi Shop in Perth and never fitted it. Have Receipt for $3k but is surplus to requirements now.
Located in Ashburton take the lot for $1500.
