1HD-T into fj62

Post by a80crewza »

Looking at another option as well, putting a 1hd-t into an fj62. Any body know roughly what it would cost to get this done, not including the cost of the engine. Cost of doing it myself vs mechanic doing it.

tbh mate it would cost more than the truck is actually worth. Much better off selling and just buying an 80 if thats what you want, or getting a 12ht

Am currently pricing up a petrol engine conversion and this was my estimate (it might be similar to yours)

4-5K labour (60-70 hours), another 1K for adapters etc, 3-6K for the engine+trans+puter and who knows how much more for belts/pumps etc.

better to find a running engine, then try the transplant with all the accessories therefore all you have to worry about is, labour and adapter.

Expect drive in drive out to be atleast 10-12K, although I've seen quotes of 18K.
You save money by doing it yourself, if you arent stuck on the retro 60's look perhaps the above suggestion is better...
