I just take mine out, steam clean it , repaint and refit it

Go buy a kids paddling pool/clam shaped kids sand pit. (Like $20 at the warehouse) Leave the radiator soaking for a few days turning/shaking it every so often. Change the water if its really dirty. Then rinse throughly and replace.

Similar to above
I have used 4 pieces of 4x2 roughly 800 long and a sheet of polythene large enough to fit inside the box and up and over the sides.
You will also need 4 small 20/25 thick blocks as well
Make up box. Lay polythene. Place the small blocks so radiator sits on the blocks on all four corners.
Use hose on gentle flow and start filling the new pool. Keep going till the rad is completely covered. Allow to soak. The longer the better. Go back with the hose and again on gentle pressure start going over the face of the rad blowing the mud through it. You may need to change the water a couple of times. Keep repeating untill clean. Dont use high pressure as it may damage the cooling fins on the tubes.
I found an old s/s shower tray that i now use instead of the timber and polythene. Same principle thou

All good works well and packs away sweet as well
Keep ya eyes open for a old s/s shower tray remove the outlet and silicon a peice of shert metal over the hole. Then place tray on a set of saw stools and now the radiator is at working height, saves the back lots ah
