ok soyou all know what you need.
I'm trying to get the key for the gate, and I'll be there at about 10am.
so basicly if you don't have the righ gear, either DON'T GET STUCK or don't come along

Only thing to be aware of with Aotea Block is to keep off the Dirt Bike Tracks at the top and stay away from the Gear Homestead down the bottom as they usually have weddings and stuff on....
The other thing that is really important is to get permission from Henry....not a keyholder, If people are going in there without permission this will piss off the landowners (its actually private land) and 4wd'ers as a whole may loose access to this. may be worth mentioning this to everyone there. You have organised permission from Henry which is cool, this was just a general reminder.....PS I understand the cops are being called now on people up there without permission which is good to see.....
Aotea would be good for an ORE driver training / play day .... I can set one up if people are keen....

Cheers to Mark, Daisy and jumper for turning up.
Big thanks to Mark, for pulling my dumb arse out of the mud hole that I was hand winching myself out of
so the damage report.
dented petrol tank, damaged exhaust system, and mud every where.
I had fun but I will need a new rear bar with protection... Stinky, your the man for this.
and the exhaust still works but I was gunna replace it anyway.

Thanks warlord. That was fun. Was pretty slippery this morning after the rain, but got quite hot and muggy later on.
That was funny. We turned up at the gate and nobody was there, then we looked down and saw the top of something red in a mud hole and some guy started walking up the hill towards us. Figured it must have been you warlord. It would have taken you a while to hand winch yourself out of there!
Don't think we did any damage (other than the rear alloy bar bending up again - a good jump on the back takes care of that), but will go and give it a checkout this avo. We were once again impressed with the way the whale can climb. It definitely helps to let your tyres down though... forgot to air down and they were about 40psi
