terrano auto problem...

Hey guys few days ago my transmission started playing up and jumping around through all the gears, my dash lights were also flickering on and off so i guessed i had an earth problem, i removed the main earth from the battery to the body, sanded all surfaces back to shiny metal and it seemed fine after but now it has a funny problem wher it drives fine untill it gets up into overdrive and then it wont kick back down. Ie go to pass someone or go up a hill anrud it stays in overdrive it will change down if i slow right down again just doesnt seem to "kick down" any ideas?

thanks, will investigate, wondered if it might have had something to do with that, was having to take it out of overdrive to get up hills etc but then it drops right down and revs its tits off, had to drive it all the way back from Nelson down through Murchison etc back home to Culverden like that, never noticed how many bends and hills there was through there until that trip haha
