ln106 engine options

Post by Pj_Marsh »

My brother's scored himself a 98 hilux with a blown engine. Reconned 5l is around 4k but he's trying to do it a bit cheaper. Anyone ever gone with a commy v6?

yup I have in my yn67.... cost me.... scared to actually workout + still need cert so you end up doing more mods too which adds to it. so yeh depends how much you can do yourself too. and how much power you think you need.

He's in Alice springs in auzzie, picked it up for $500. I looked at a few lexus v8's, similar power but takes up more room

well that makes commy v6 conversion a lot cheaper cos I had to order a lot of my parts from auz marks4wd adaptors but he wont get stung from the tax man at customs and commy v6 engines are also a lot cheaper and more of em in auz

what about 3rz like I have done just have to move the engine mounts on chassis then its all virtually bolt up parts fit an electric fuel pump a bit of wiring etc and your away. and also simalar power to the commy v6.
