courier company??

Post by andy3542 »

iv just sold my spare set of 40 series ambulance doors to a guy in cromwell otago and now iv got to get them down there. iv never shipped anything of this size in nz so im after a bit of advice.

who should i use, im wanting to do this on the cheap but they need to get their with the glass intact (its original)?

should i just lay them on top of each other put newspaper between them bubble wrap them and then put a cardboard box around them and take them to mainfreight?

not really sure what to do.... :?

cheers

i wasnt sure where to put this.

Hey,

I have used mainfreight in the past. and they have been good as. I would recomend doing all you can to wrap them up and put a blank sticker stating that they are fragile and there is glass inside.

Cheers

Go to local store and find a couple of throw away pallets and make a wood box for them, they will be heavy enough the weight wont make any difference and the extra protection will be worth the extra volume cost.
Toy - Zuk chassis tub, hilux 4.88 axles and transfer, Nissan CA18DE motor and auto trans, sc12 supercharger, 32 10'5 simex, twin motor 8274 custom freespool. Well the parts are all there in various corners of the shed

Plus one on that. I've shipped wheels and they charge by the cube so a pallet or so is the way to go. Cut screw etc, should be sweet.

I have used mainfreight for a door from down country door to door.
Price was reasonable. Was wrapped in thick cardboard and arrived good as gold.

i would also make the crate so the doors stand up in it, as soon as you make a large flat service then the hoist guys will stack "lots" on top of it, irrelevant whether it is covered in fragile stickers or not.

How and why do people drag up 3 1/2 yr old posts like that and then procede to post a reply

Still sometimes it is better to remain silent and be thought of a fool than open ones mouth and remove all doubt
