ceiling cargo net
ceiling cargo net
Anyone running one of these?
After my last high water incident I found that even the glovebox can't be guaranteed dry.
Would like to be able to store a few things like spare clothes and wallet etc on the roof space.
Cheers
Matt.

Probably not made for your vehicle but seeing some of your drawer handiwork I am sure you could whip up something for the roof...........

Thanks for the link Skid. I just went and opened my drawers but there wasn't a hot Lady in her underwear in them
My plan was to use the grab handles as fixing points with a fine mesh with stretchy sides that would hug the roof and allow even small items like phones etc to be held securely.
Cheers

Re: ceiling cargo net
A cheap trailer cargo net from the warehouse and a few waterproof gear bags from tramping store and all sorted
Re: ceiling cargo net
All those trailer nets have quite large mesh whereas I want something a lot finer.
Maybe it doesn't exist...

Re: ceiling cargo net
I got some from bridon a while ago, it was only in white, had about an 8mm hole and was strong as hell, cheap too. I think it was a Raschel knitted net, it didnt have any knots.
Re: ceiling cargo net
Does it need to be net? You could get a piece of PE or similar from an upholsterer and attach to either side of the vehicle and run a bungy along the front and rear to help hold item in.
Or buy some nylon webbing and borrow mums sewing machine and make your own.

You could always use some of the netting they sell in Bunnings by the meter, they have stretchy stuff for going over garden framing

Re: ceiling cargo net
if your going that deep that your filling the glovebox up with water I'd be more concerned about killing the truck than a wet cellphone and wallet.... have you thought about staying out of the deep water

Re: ceiling cargo net
Haha unplanned deep water happens. Truck is setup for it.

Re: ceiling cargo net
have you considered putting the phone and wallet in a $20 dry bag before placing it in the glove box? cheaper and easier
