Easy way is to fit a Voltage sensing relay from your starting batteries to your aux batteries. It will charge both banks from one alternator. You will probably need a bigger alt. There is a 60 amp unit on some small isuzu trucks that mounts the same and just needs a small plumbing and wiring mod to fit.

why would you want to remove a pto winch and replace it with a electric unit for??

apart from rolling the vehicle onto its side the pto will pull all day and then pull all night as well if required.. try that with an electric unit

if it for operator ease ask somebody with a pto to show you how to use it efficiently

I can't b farked to finish the pto set up as it's set up for mid mount and I only have the pto unit still need drive shaft and winch, bull bar is built for electic winch, nothing to do with operating the winch that's not the reason, electric is easy to fit, I don't use a winch much, and electric cheaper than finishing the pto winch set up.

Fair call

That being the case i wouldnt even go down the path of two sets of batteries. Make sure you always winch with the motor running and leave it running for a little while after you have completed a hard winch to put charge back into the batteries and you will be good to go.

Imho the alternator will be the achilles heel
