Safari front knuckles

Post by Gren »

Is there an easy way to determine if my front diff has a bent knuckle?
Wheel alignment only tells me the left side is 2degrees back from the right.

Check the radius arm rear bushes first as if the bush is worn then that side will be further back than the other side

Done that and swapped out the old diff/radius arm bushes also. Along with putting in another pair of radius arms.

Usually pretty obvious by looking directly at the front of the vehicle and eye balling the front wheel camber.

The camber is fine it's just the caster that's giving me the headache

Heh, ya maniac!
Me and my truck are all about towing the boat to the water and back.
Spose I should strip the housing and run a long straight edge across the face of the pumpkin then measure forward to the knuckles to check for bendy bendy.

And just remember yo leave the goats alone  ah just kidding ......

A few questions
How does the steering feel? Pulling to one side or straight and true
What us the tyre wear like? ripping one tyre apart or maybe both

If the steering is fine and tyre wear std then i would suggest leaving well alone. Many older vehicles end up with different measurements from one side to the other and fir many different reasons as well

Love them goats!
Tyre wear is fine, vehicle pulls left which is the only reason I'm going down this path as it's rather bugging me on long trips.
I'm determined to get this thing driving straight if it damn near kills me.
