I have a 2010 ford ranger, standard wheels. if I put 35" tyres 12.5 wide, 16 x 10 rims with -44 offset they will stick out 5.5 inches past the standard flares ! any suggestions on a cheap way to make this setup legal. will try anything

have you tried putting a 35" tyre on a 10" rim onto the truck to cycle it around for body/chassis rub and see if you have any steering left?

if you can do it cheep dosent really come into the equation with 500 bucks worth of rims, 2k worth of tyres and 500 bucks worth of certification before you look at flares, suspension lift and gearing changes

From what I can understand from your other thread you are doing these modifications to a 2WD ute, correct me if I'm wrong. If so my 5c is that this is a ridiculously stupid idea and a complete waste of money and time. Posers are lame.

Not if it also get coil overs and bypasses, a cage, another 150kw, engine moved back 300mm and composite panels all round. Then it could be a choice daily driver and offroad racer!

We once used an old strainer post to roll the guards on a rangerover and managed to roll the bottom of the doors at the same time , would look pretty trick on something late model

I put 265/70/16 on mine (31) and it rubbed a touch on both the front and back of the front wheel arch. And that was std rims, with any offset they wouldn't fit.

800 is just the start man, You'll be heaps poorer than that once you get 35's on.

You have not a hope without major surgery.....

It work's but you get a better finish with a steel pipe or a base ball bat and some extra big blokes to give a bit more weight on it. Obviously if you have a bit of a gap between the arch and the wheel you need a fairly large pipe.

I'd be looking at removing the front bumper,
building a light bar,belly pan,soften the rear springs
running say a Baja claw on the rear with some steerers in a taller narrower profile up front .
tighten the lsd, up the power then fang up ad down muriwai chucking sand about

Lot easier to do super long travel IFS when theres no diff or driveshafts to worry about.

Truth! I would give my left nut for a camburg or fatcity prerunner

There is a big difference between setting up a prerunner or two wheel drive beach racer to bolting a set of 35s on and hoping you make the corner at the end of your street.

that'd be the only reason to put so much tread under a 2wd,
bring it to dirt drags once its done .
2wd class is getting owned by a 323 wagon with a rotary in it the last couple years

well I wish it would look like the camburg race truck!! will do it in 2 stages and post pics when its done.
stage 1 2" bodylift , 35" wheels . (that will give me 4.5"" lift) big flares. that will blow 3k.
still workn on if I can do spindle lift. front bumper light bar rollbar sidestep

everything has to be in proportion,
the physically larger size of the yank trucks with their lengthened guards and big lifts allow them the room for big tires,
stick to a size that will get its full range of motion in the factory guard.
if you go to big it'll just look like a hot wheels.
is it single cab?
front bumper removal will give you some room for turning the tires but the back of the guard will restrict lock if you go too big.
also smaller tires will allow you to get away with more offset giving a wider stance.
proportion will make it look good keep an open mind to the options

I remember the Nitro Circus boys taking a trophy truck round a city somewhere. If your trucks ends up anywhere near that then go for it.

Or you could end up with a non steering tyre rubbing wrongly geared posing pouch.
