hey nothing wrong with a bit of healthy over engineering lol and this gives me a good frame to mount too

Almost there only a few more bits and I'll be working on the loom and fire her up....

More

Got the brake pedal and master mounted up in there lol it is tight!!

Had to make a little bit more room in the front.... but it all tucks in well clear of your knees
Now I just have to run the plumbing

Still working on blastard water lines lol
Image

Just got one small section under the tunnel to sort and they are done... while waiting for welds to cool I started the sump
Decided to kind of over kill it since there is no bash plate to protect it I'm making it strong
4mm for the front section and the bottom, including the folded edges the sides will be normal sheet
Image

Still got to do the other side as it has a bit of contour and then a recess to fit a rachet when doing up the touque converter bolts, and some windage baffles

Been a bit distracted with work and then recovering from the back pain after lol
so haven't done as much as i would have liked.....

Got the bulkhead between the radiator and the occupants in
Image
Image

That will keep the club scrutineers happy with the rear rad
Also finished the throttle & cable a wee bit of fun I've set it up so that the driver can use it with his heel or toe..... there is next to no foot room in the cab so I've set it up so he can put his foot on the guard and drive with his heel

Just working on the Alt mount, then its all together for the weigh in on the front for the spring rate and I sort the front suspension again lol

Been given my start time for the next contract, got a few days spare so going to nail the front suspension top mounts and all the bits that work off them
Don't have a phone Rick so either call in or round home

Right got the front end weigh'd in, just a bar that is calibrated to change the leverage ratio and a set of bathroom scales I have true'd using 20L drums of water
Image

everything that is going to be there is sitting there and I've thrown in some sections of pipe I can use to make the bracing

the real interesting surprise is how much weight the winch and bar have added to the springs.... they have near on doubled the weight from what I was working towards as a trials truck!

Right since since I have a working range for the spring rate time to sort out placement.... since I've modified things from the original CAD plan I decided to go old school and just spot weld a frame in and cycle and adjust.... so some 6mm rod and we have it all done
Image
impressive how strong a bit of 6mm can be.... let it down onto this dropped the bonnet down for safety.... then climbed onto the front bumper and started bouncing lol with the shocks on the soft setting I got enough bounce it lifted the axle off the jack stands yeeehaaaa lol
I wasn't just doing that for fun but when your half piss'd on a fri night it is rather amusing lolI did it to settle the springs and shocks so I could take a measure for height adjustment
Then its time to cycle for clearance issues and set the final positions

Then yesterday using the wire frame as a jig to position I built the new shock towers
Image
this afternoon after some miss's time I'll see about joining these to the top of the bumper

Here's the weekends work, bit of fun....

a mix of pipe and tube, to keep the weight down, but still have the strength where I want it.... didn't have enough tube to finish off the shock tower brace... was hoping to get it all nailed but it'll have to wait
