Hi guys
Just wanted to say thanks for all the information on this topic. It seems that is has been a very hotly debated topic as to air to air, and water to air intercooling.
Well I am sorry but I have to jump on the band wagon of water to air. I have just finished installing the intercooler and the difference is amasing. I have changed the induction to a 3" right angle and relocated the air box to the front of the engine bay just behind the headlight. I did this to get the straightest and shortest ducting I could so that there is no chance of lag. Running a k&n filter in the original box and standard pipe.
The power has gone through the roof and temps are down and fuel economy is much better.
Super stoked with the outcome and can't wait to get the pipe done and the boost wound up:)

i used this intercooler and this is the trade me seller i purchased it from new. I cost me $198.00 for the cooler and $235.00.00 for the pipe work which included the new 3" introduction pipe.
Re: Nissan Mistral water to air intercooler installation
This is what I have done so far. i have relocated the air box to the front under behind the headlight.
Induction piping components-
*3" 90 degree Aluminium pipe section
*2 X 3 inch-2 1/4 inch Silicon junction pipe
*2 x 3 inch hose clamps
*1 x K&N E-2210 Filter
Intercooler piping components-
*2 x 2.5 inch Silicon joiners
*1 x 2.5 inch U-bend aliminium pipe
*2 x 3-2.5 inch silicon joiner
*8 x 2.5 inch hose clamps
You will need to cut all the pipe sections as you go so that you get the best fit possible.
Good Luck
Hope this helps you to get started:)

Re: Nissan Mistral water to air intercooler installation
Here's how I set up the radiator for the intercooler. I have removed all of the air conditioning to allow more room to fit all the upgrades and who really needs a power sucking airconditioning compressor anyway!

you'll be kicking yourself when your in the bush and need an air compressor big enough to seat a bead.

Waiter...there is a drought in my glass.
