I'm trying to locate the crank angle sensor on my TD27 (ETi) can anyone point me in the right direction? Cheers.

They are in the front timing cover between the alt and water pump. The loom plug in on the inlet manifold and goes around the front of the rocker cover and down past the alternator.
Never seen one in the bell housing Crash but I don't see many Menstrals either (they may be different everthing else on them is), everyone around here has Terrano's

That diagram puts it in the bell housing above the starter. Very interesting as I have never seen a TD of any flavour with a sensor down there. The diagram is for A td27ti, Do you know which pump they have Crash?

Zexel Covec or Bosch?
I still can figure why it would be in a different spot. Maybe the Spaniards just have to be different
Sorry for the thread hijack Sionline

Re: td27 crank sensor
Hi all,
Got a question with the engine revolution sensor.
I put a TD27 out of a navara into my terrano and on the terrano its located under the injector pump but on the navara its located on the front between water pump and alternator.
I have cut and made the wire longer to reach the plug, but it is not working?
Is their a difference between the two?

yes ones a crank angle sensor for the ECU/EGR and is a positive, the one below the I/P is a negative on the earlier td but is converted to a positive on the later TDI but that same sender is on the actual I/P

Re: td27 crank sensor
So if that same sender is on the injection pump. Which one does the tachometer use?

the tachometer gets its signal from the IP side of the engine regardless if it is on the timing gear cover or the injector pump it's self, either way you still need a signal converter of some sort.
