Is it auto or manual ?
Sounds like Big end bearings starting to go (my audio is shit )
If you have'nt already replaced them we stock genuine big end bolts and acl full life copper nickle bearings to replace the shit alloy toyota ones that need doing at 100,000km intervals ,

Its manual. You got me worried now. I would have thought if it were the BEBs, it'd have thought it would be more of a knocking/ticking sound?? I haven't seen any noticeable drop in oil pressure either.

Yeh my old manual 80 series mad a similar noise, ended up being a clutch spring. Changed clutch, no more noise. Would rather do BEB to be honest. alot easier

No doesn't change when i put clutch in, its not a rattle. It sometimes is there sometimes its not, still there no matter what revs i'm doing. I can't hear it when i'm inside, only when the window is down. The noise of the engine just drains out the sound when i rev it up. the noise doesnt get worse with higher revs.

heres a jeep with the same noise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qk32yYm ... ag&index=2
