hi guys, now ive done a custome 1kzte intercooler setup and i had a custom throttle plate adapter made, but forgetting i have to make room for the idle valve(im assuming thats what that is) when i first got it going it had around 20 pounds of vacuum and idled very poorly, then it clicked about the adapter plate. so i grinded a channel into the plate i made to allow room for air to get in and also for the throttle valve to move freely, my problem is that at idle at the moment it is at around 7-8 pound of vacuum, will this cause any damage?? it drives fine idles mint, just wondering if its algood to be like that???

get rid of the butterfly completely, it is only required for the EGR which hopefully you have blanked off.

the egr has been stopped not blocked,same sort of thing i guess, now with the butterfly removal how does that work, do you just straight unscrew the butterfly plate and leave it like that? or is there another way, because it needs the rotation of the valve to turn the tps??? correct me if im wrong, im newish to diesels.

If you are new to diesels then there is one important point....
Petrol engines governed by the flow of air....
Diesel engines governed by the flow of fuel.
you could remove the entire intake manifold from a diesel engine as long as it is getting fuel to the combustion chamber it will run.
In saying that i'd suspect that your TPS is attatched to the accelerator linkage either at the pedal if it is a fly by wire throttle or atop the injector pump if it cable linkage.

no im not really sure,hahaha how does the 1kz detect fuel dosage, like the td27s have the accelerator cable on the govenor i get that but im assuming the 1kz has a setup like a petrol car??

by the looks of things its got a butterfly valve like a petrol and the sensor is on the oppisite side of where the cable connects onto. i havent got any pics but if ya google it it sorta makes sense, thanks for the help tho

just had a look...you can safley remove the plate from the shaft and blank the pipe off...according to the yota forum it will effect fuel consumption some what...don't know why. some thing to do with a venturi effect on the manifold.
