100mm height rule?
100mm height rule?
Have heard from a couple if people that have said you can't get anything certed over 100mm from factory? Is this true? Some sort off new rule? Anyone else heard this?
Re: 100mm height rule?
I think it depends on the garage, some are stricter than others.
You might get away with a 50mm body lift combined with a 50mm suspension lift but 100mm of just one or combined total of more than 100mm will probably get failed come WOF time. I think if you can show the certifier that the vehicle is still road worthy there isn't any set limit. If you just slap in some 150mm springs without using other items to correct drivetrain angles etc you would find it hard going to get it legal.
My own opinion is its best to get everything you want done in as short a period as possible and then get everything certed at the same time.
Keep in mind you run a pretty big risk insurance wise if you have an accident in a lifted vehicle, especially if you fall off the road going round a corner etc and you haven't told your insurer about the mods.

I've got 200mm lift over factory certed, that was over a yr tho
Prior Preperation Prevents Piss Poor Performance. My Solution: Build a Tougher Truck
Re: 100mm height rule?
Just had mine certed and certifier never mentioned anything about it. Not a "high" truck through.
Sounds like B/S.

Yeah it does sound like b/s, I hope it's not true anyway
Re: 100mm height rule?
There is no set height for lifted suspension in the WoF regulations.
As long as the factory mounts haven't been modified, and the suspension parts are direct bolt in parts, it doesn't need certifying.

Body lifts however need a cert regardless of height.
