2002 Grand Vitara TD82 Scan Tool

Can anyone help me in identifying a suitable low cost scan tool which will allow me to reset 'check engine lights' whilst diagnosing the issue?

I have seen items available in the US, but the cost to ship is horrendous.

Also, when searching for bits for my 4x4 I keep running into the issue of JLS/JLX/LTD being the only options to purchase in the states. I am putting it down to the lack of Diesel turbo vehicles there, but I wanted confirmation of this assumption. I find it difficult to search for anything for a TD82.
