Hi all, Just brought my 3rd Surf, this time an 89 LN61. Had an LN130 repowered with a 302 windsor, and also had a VZN130 V6.
In Christchurch, my wife and I will be using this as day to day transport, but also for a bit of bush bashing and camping.
Appalled at how gutless it is, but that's life. If/when it breaks a Lexus V8 will find it's way into the hole! Till then, I'll be keeping it tidy and reliable as it's our only car for a while. Will be doing exhaust, intercooler and decent air filter for a bit more poke tho. Any suggestions let me know!

Welcome aboard, and good luck with the 2lt. Doubtless you know all the tricks for keeping the head in one piece, but if you want more power suggest a plunger replacement in the injection pump. Had Scotty at diesel pumps ltd do this on a diesel and it certainly livened things up. Cost me $600 plus the plunger. Works real nice if you have an intercooler as well.
