Epic Adventure Report !!!!!!

Post by DieselBoy »

I stumbled across a trip report last night that had me on the edge of my seat until 1am reading it!!

A couple from Belgium took their Troopy through the Congo in 2008, from Lubumbashi to Kinshasa. They were attempting to drive the Troopy on the main Hi-way through the country between the two centers.

The catch being there has been no vehicle traffic and no maintenance done on the roads for over 15 years.

Lets just say there wasn't a straight panel left on the Troopy at the end. The tipped it on its side something like 20 times in the same day at one point.

Anyway don't want to give to much away

What an insane adventure, like fawkin MAD

I just read the actual report posts and skipped all the B/S comments as the expeditionportal.com crew can be a bit critical and a lot ignorant

It took me a few hours to get through a lot of pages, but it was a awesome read.

Wow is all I can say :D :D :D

Epic, I'm up to page 11 now instead of cleaning up the shed and fixing the axle seal on the safari

Amazing. They were mad to attempt it, lucky to achieve it.
Not my idea of fun but they sure have some balls...... :D

Did you guys spot the link to their interview on Overland Live???

Nothing special, but interesting to hear about the nearly two years of traveling that culminated in the DRC crossing!!
