Just an update ,Have had it confirmed their are major slips Te Aroha side ,Track is completely blocked and will need a digger to clear ,on a side note its appears some low life bastards have helped themselves to fire extinguishers ,diesel and batteries from the logging company in there ,not a good look for 4wders ,

lots of people use thompsons track and often they are just people going for a drive not necessarily 4 wheel divers
my 4wd is not a truck

old mercedes never die but sometimes they do need some love

older cars are good, mercedes are better, older mercedes are the best

agree ,but to get up to where the logging equipment is stored you would need a 4wd to get there and carry out said stolen items ,the batteries they use are big and to bloody heavy to get out any other way ,im not saying its 4wd club members but in the end we all get tarred with the same brush

Have just been told Thompsons is now closed until further notice ,copied from another site

Thompson track ist a problem now there was a mountain slip ,, the track is badly blocked , you can't even walk in there, we don't know if there are any founds to re open it it will cost around 200 000 $ to clear the track , and if the geology report says not safe , it is all over , possible would be the katikati side but in the moment you need a hovercraft to go in there ,it is a deep swamp land there,
We talk to the council and doc land in the moment, ! But a lot of changes, gonna happen now it is not looking good at all

the repairs were never of a high standard, the dozer blade cuts in the side of the roadside bank made it easier for slips to happen bits the bully never touched were still in as made standard
