WTD: CHEAP solid axle prado auto and transfer

Post by turoa »

Anyone got a cheap prado auto and transfercase for sale? Needs to be generally pretty cheap. Is there a wreckers that one could try?

I've spent the last two months trying to find one at the right price. Finally found an A343F out of a surf, same box, not sure if the transfer is the same though. Will find out today as it should arrive at Mainfreight.

If it says Prado the price is usually between $600 and $1200, whereas if it says surf its more like $250 - $500. Same trans numbers.

Wreckers want in excess of $1000 :o

Box I got was on $600 buy now, no reserve, starting bid $250. None of the ones I've watched on Trademe have actually sold, so I've just been sitting waiting..

Yea, trans is easy to pick up. I just need a offset rear shaft, which is on a prado t-case. Surfs have a centred rear shaft :(

I have a mate who wants the T-Case if its centered... which it should be. I just want the auto box.

Lineside had some prado transfercases on their own last time I called them. Not cheap though.

If you are wanting anything from Lineside to NI - I can do you a favour. Heading north on Newyears day, can pick up from there and bring up. Only two conditions. 1. I can pick up from lineside up to Friday, 2. Will have to meet you enroute on SH1/5 as I'm heading straight north to just below Rotorua same day, not much time for diversions.

Ferry gets in midday or early afternoon. Not sure of exact time at present but if any one wants to tee some thing up I'll check and confirm details. I could leave at a friends place at Wainuiomata where we will be briefly making a side trip over to pick up a vehicle.

I decided that I dont need one this afternoon. I am going to stay with the 202 for now, because its easy to work with, cheap parts, but mainly the fact that the spark plugs are really easy to pull, so if I hydroloc it, It'll take 5 mins to have it going again.
