Best engine oil for 1HD-T

Post by a80crewza »

Time for an oil change. Have looked on Google and found a few options. Is 9.5 liters what a 1HD-T takes? What engine oil do you guys recommend?

Cheers.

10ltr with filter and Use Mobil delvac mx or sinopec have used castrol GTX diesel oil and a few others, running a HPR full zink 10ltr at the mo for a trial and Also throw a litre of moreys oil stabiliser in for good measure.

i have tried the magnatec diesel and found it sooted and went shit very quick compared to the mobil delvac mx, havent tried the mobil super as its more of a small vehicle range as opposed to comercial/heavy from my understanding.

Most Repco have delvac mx and ryco filter Z334 and a litre of moreys heavy duty oil stabiliser. Chuck about 5ltr oil in then dump the moreys goo in then add another 4ltr of oil then run to fill filter and get pressure then shut down and check level and top up if needed.

That's the stuff. I'm sure I got 2x5ltr packs last time... Maybe I got a 20... Can't remember. Or get it off waitomo Brennan in Hamilton or get synopec which is just as good (apparently)and cheaper.

the other good oil is gulf western j-power. http://www.gulfwestern.com.au/Diesel-Oil-JPower.html

getting hard to find jap specific oils now. mobil dropped there one.
not sure if its due to the common rails being closer design to the euro and usa ones.
