Hey all, FJ70 SWB 'Cruiser. A little low and the old leaves are tired. Currently running 33's and want to go to 35's (who doesn't want more clearance, eh?). Reckon I can get away with 2", get good clearance and stay within the rules.
Looks like they will generally cost me North of $1k new, so wondering if anyone has a set lying around, maybe did a coil conversion or something. Second hand does not worry me too much, the truck is a hack at best! Not really interested in going to coils, reckon the leaves will be fine. Oh, running a PTO up front with a bar, so need the "heavy duty" (70 - 100kg) jobbies.
Based in Auckland but happy to pay freight if the price is right. Let me know what you have...

Bugger! Thanks for that! Another thought, anything I can do with my existing springs? Can they be refurbed and modified?

Re: 2" lift leaf sprints WTB
Is there any chance of restacking the existing ones with new leaves from say a hilux etc with more tempering in them?
Waiter...there is a drought in my glass.

those old cruisers are 30 years old mate the're all sitting on saggy old springs so be wary throwing your hard earnt money at someone else's saggy old springs
if you want to spend some money throw it at some oldman emu leaf springs they work well, articulate and clear big tyres well on those trucks

You are probably right! I might see what I can do with Hilux jobs in the meantime, while I save my bikkies (cause once she is sitting high, will need some tyres too!)

Try archers auto springs in takanini. They reset my hilux leafs about 1-2inches above standard for about $150 a pair. They sag over time but they can also add a helper spring for extra weight and to help keep their shape. They were really helpfull and took only one day to get the springs back.

I know I swapped a 70 series old man emu 2 inch lift kit and some diffs for simexs.
The guy I swapped them to was only using the diffs on a customers vehicle
and was going to wait on the right customer to drive in to move the lift kit.
His name is tony differ and he runs speedy lube&tyre next door to mcdonalds in greenwood st Hamilton. 07 847 1601
everything was there springs and shocks kept in compressed state.
