The driver seat in my D40 Navara is giving me a crook back, how hard would it be to replace the front seats with a pair of recaros or similar and would they be likely to help with back support? Thanks

take them to an upolsterer and tell him about your back., they'll whip the cover off and build up the seat foam etc in the right places to fit your body...

custom fitted to your arse... not custom fitted to your truck.

Do they have airbags in them? or pre-tensioners on the buckle? If so it would be easier to buy another ute with seats that fit you.
One of my customer bought a Jeep as it was the only car they could find that his wife could sit in comfortably for longer trips as she has had a spinal injury.

My D40 has airbags and pre tensioned belts. Im short and erm fluffy, so the seats are fine for me. You might be able to get a bolstered cover that may help.

Appreciate the feedback and good ideas. I will look into those options. The ute actually rides quite hard compared to a Hilux I had previous. Its no where near as smooth on the shingle road I travel. I thought that it was down on its back springs but after looking at numerous other D40's it seems they all sit quite flat on the leafs. It dosent float like the shocks are stuffed but I guess they could be worth looking at as it has done 300kms. Is there any market for the TD25 engine with those kms on it as it is going to be removed to make way for a LS1?Would these seats on trademe be any good?

I dont know if your legally allowed to fit them. No air bag, and the vehicle isn't old enough to remove them. or does yours not have seat airbags?

Its an 06 STX, I dont think its got any other air bags than the main ones and the one that rides in the passenger seat sometimes, but will have to check properly.
