Hey guys,

We have some good news, due to our generous sponsors getting behind us in support of the event we are now able to drop the entry fee to $200. (Those who have paid in full will get reimbursed).

We are hoping to encourage a few more people to come along and have a great time.

We are in the middle of sorting T shirts and I have to say they are looking pretty awesome.

We now have 21 stages allocated and are looking to give you guys as much seat time as we can.

If you are serious about competing please dont hesitate to get in touch with us if you are unsure about anything.

We have also finished the supplementary rules around the Outlaw and UTV class.

We still need marshalls for the event, also if you are interested in coming onboard as one of our media team please do get in touch. We have a few very good photographers and guys to take some videos on board already.

Its gonna be a whole lot of wet muddy fun, and we get to see who gets crowned King of the Palace 2014

can i suggest changing the entry form on 4x4 challenges to $200 as not all people who enter wc comps look at this site and $$$ may be a little put off for some. i have just put my entry in, look forward to the event

FYI:

We need marshals to be; time keepers at the start/finish box(s), or to be in the tracks at different points checking for penalties such as excess wheel spin, trucks breaking bunting or knocking over pegs or winching penalties such as not calling to stand clear or touching live rope. The rules can be found on the 4x4challenges website.
The key is being consistent in the decisions you make and that they are the same for every truck that enters your stage. At the moment we're hoping to be able to have marshals paired up so they are not alone and have them do 1 session of tracks rather then all 4 across the weekend.
Once a truck has completed a stage the start/finish marshal will ask the marshals in the stage if there were any penalties and these get added to the time sheet.
We're hoping to have a marshall training day/bbq so that marshals can get to know each other if theyre Auckland based.

Hi guys,

Don't forget the comps only 3 weekends away

If you haven't got your entries in please do so ASAP, we are wanting to know (hopefully) the final number by the cut off date this weekend. If you are unsure but still possibly keen, can you please let us know so we can make sure that we can accommodate your entry.

Also we have organised a Lamb on the spit and Hangi Veggies for saturday night, which should be served hot about when everyone is finishing the night stages off

Please also note that this is a NON SPECTATOR event, anyone that arrives to the property must be on our list as crew, competitors or marshalls, all others will unfortunately have to be turned away at the gate.

I would like to say on behalf of Andrew Gibson and I that we are so thankful for all of those who helped us achieve this event, the sponsors that provided prizes and support, the marshals who helped were beyond amazing, the media crew were great, the competitors were awesome. Great attitudes all round helped with making it an awesome event.

We had an absolute blast running the event, we hope everyone enjoyed it.

Big thanks also to my partner for picking up the slack, keeping us fed and warm to ensure we could continue to run the event.

Thanks also to my mum Averil and her partner Darryl for coming up from Warkworth to freeze in the rain to provide us with a lovely spit, also to Lewis for dropping down a mean Hangi as well.

The kids and I had a great day despite the weather. Stage 3 was a pleasure to run and I think all the competitors enjoyed it.

Awesome event, I think most of the competitors would take their hats off to Andrew and Caleb and their helpers for the event they put on.
Truly wicked stages that had a mix of everything and just about killed off a few navis.
All the guys that came up with us had a ball, and thank you for your hospitality.

Hopefully you run it again in the future and get the truck numbers that the event deserves.
