need a digital one to supply the ECU, so the trans will auto-shift, the Trans has a manual one at the moment.

I have seen pics of an 80 with an LT1. It had a disc bolted to the rear output flange on the transfer, between the flange and the D/S, and the sensor bolted to the transfer

The guy who wired up my Lexus managed to wire up the Prado Auto to the factory v8 computer and get it shifting automatically with the option of manualised shift ,all he used was a LN series surf dash speed sensor.
Do you have the trans and loom that came off your supra motor?

Thats what I have been pondering on, did he put it behind the dash or somewhere else?

I don't have a trans loom but I have the main engine loom. I'm using my A343 trans instead of the A340, with the Supra A/T ECU. Everything I've read says it should work.

And Jtop, yea I've been thinking about that too... that will be my last option as it looks like it might take a while to setup.

Sorry should have made it clearer, the trans is hooked straight into the 2JZ-GE ECU, or at least it will be when we have the speed sensor sorted.
