my suzuki

Post by 1kz_surf »

hi guys so ill start off with a bit of a blerb lol

im Greg im 19 from wellington im a apprentice mechanic ,ive sort f grown up in suzukis and hiluxs mum ha a few samurais and sorts dad had hiluxs and settled with a surf with his age

I was on a block course at the polytech and got talking to a guy who I enede up buying the besty ( rusty beast from ) thinking I was going mad I carried on working on it getting it ready for its warrant vtnz failed it with a massive list I was about ready to drive it to the scrapys when my dear old dad said he would help me fix it plus the inspector at vtnz said it should be used as a boat anchor (that realy put a fire up under me haha) and so I went about fixing it , got some 235 hankook dyna pro mt tyres for it wich I must say have been superb and I love the price even better :)

once it had its warrant I went about the usual beating any young man would haha

il post pics soon hopefully

I then took the rear seats out and chucked the spare in the already small boot space and ook the mount off the tail gate and fitted a led reverse light

the boys and me were up the mungatooks when a mate said shit what flex and I laughed it off ... next day was Monday strate down to autoine and got a 50mm lift spring set for the front ,and I used secondhand lwb springs for the rear

I was fitting the following Friday

To embed your photos in your posts, use the bottom of the four photobucket links and paste it directly into you post. It also means every man and his dog doesn't have access to your photobucket photos - cool 4WD pics by the way.

well I have uploaded a hole heap just to find out you can only have up to 801 pixels wide ??

don't quite know where ive gone wrong but heres a run down on my set up so far

so its a 1988 single point injection escudo

its manual , very rough gearbox but it dose the trick for now , it has a lock rite rear diff ,and just freewheeling hubs from a sj413 as they are the same , the engine has a snorkel now ( 2 weeks ago ish ) and a full 2 inch system with extractors and one muffler that's more for show then to muffle anything lol

its got lwb springs in the bum and as contrary to popular belief swb shocks and lwb shocks are the exact same , I used swb shocks for ages but have just got ful kyb set up now

the front has 2 inch lift cheap springs that I sourced through work

rear box for some much needed extra storage

chopped guards in the front to get some more clearance in the arches as they were rubbing ever so slightly

its on 235 /75/15s I have to say for what I payed for them they are a meeeaaannn tyre and its just on sj wheels

ill try sort the pics soon :)

so its been a while since I posted here due to my computer being a homo but thanks to mattman im back and computers sorted !

been pretty busy on it .. its now green , on 31s ,has a broken lockrite haha

and skidplates

have been up north with mattman and marco !

had a ball of a time !

at the moment I am ordering parts from the states for the locker due to it having too much clearance and he having a extra heavy foot it demolished it self ha-ha

just a few questions dose any one have trouble getting axles out ? even with a slide hammer it takes some doing still

and what's everyone's thoughts on taking the carpet out ?

Take the carpets out Greg and do some rinoliner or similar. There was a good post from a jeep guy on here about a similar product.

His finish looked awesome. Prevents the floor going rusty and provides some traction and easy to clean up.

Definitely my next mod. Sick of taking my carpets out. Have some awesome mats in the front to catch the dirt and prevent a bit of noise.
