13b-t Too Much Boost?

Post by juz »

Ive just picked up a Bj74 Landcruiser with the 13bt powerhouse in it, previous owner has done bigger exhaust, intercooler and upped the boost to 15psi although hasnt touched the fuel side.
Is 15psi too high for these or safe?
Ill look at cranking the fuel up a bit once I pick it up.
Cheers Justin

Around that should be fine , if you go to high with that turbo as the compressor on the turbo will become a restriction your air temps will sky rocket ,
Also can get back up or back pressure in the exhaust manifold as the exhaust housing will become a restriction ,
Cheers

I ran 15-18psi for the life time of my 13bt, I did wind the fuel up a touch just till there was a bit of black under hard acceleration
Dont follow me. i'll get stuck and need a tow..

Cheers Callum, just read up how to increse the fuel. Ill fit an egt gauge then crank the fuel up a bit. Leave the boost at 15psi, Id hate to see how slow it is with less boost..
