What size heads are they going on.... not all pinion flanges are equal lol
your 4.8 has a smaller spline size, there is also a diff in bolt pattern on some of the early hilux stuff.... I just can't remember the details for it, but I can remember swopping flanges from one diff to another

If you get stuck PM me details on bolt pattern and major spline dia and I'll have a dig through my parts tubs lol

Hey reece, have a look in that bread basket of bits of mine, there was a couple of hilux flanges in that (if that stuff is still there now)
Its better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Its not going on a diff so can be made to fit . I was unable to easily pull the one off I have already to check but expect (hope) its a typical hilux one of late 80's etc . Could be interested in a smaller spline size so maybe I need to hunt down one of those 4.8's to compare .

I'm guessing this is for a mid mounted trans maybe...
you planing on using double carden joints they have a different bolt pattern and a larger Dia flange
Dimensions lol I need dimensions, no point in me sending ya stuff that don't fit
Major shaft dia (dia of peak of the splines) spline count (should be 27) and what bolt pattern or worst case dia of the flange so you can bolt what you want

There was no way a double carden joint was going to fit on the suzuki gearbox but this is around the other way so may be more room on the front side . Will see . I want to use a Hilux rear shaft for the rear as it has a hanger bearing from memory (not really familiar with them ) .

Since there are too many options I will come back with details of the flange I have and see what would be best . That will be a week or so .

Cheers

Ok , pulled the bits apart today and have measurements .

Flange O/A dia 103mm
Bolt Dia 85 ( first read as 86 ) , seem to be a sqaure pattern 60mm apart .
Best guess on the spline O/D would be 27.5 or 28mm . The seal run area is 38mm but maybe they all are .

Since a suzuki spline is the same size I am scared this is the small spline H/P flange you talk about .

However on the new project I can go up to a 40mm O/D spline .

So what is it and anyone got any they want to part with ?

Thanks
Chris

Just spotted this, if I go in tomorrow I'll have a measure up.... don't think there is anything remotely close to 40mm
