Question bout warn 8274
I'm just stripping apart 2 8274 winches and noticed one has a key way on the motor and other has a spline, why would this be? And is there a reason for this difference? Cheers Rich

Key way one is an earlier model, new drive gear $16 us.
Looked at that too.

I paid 40 bucks for a splined drive gear through fully equipped about 7 or 8 years ago, they had stock ex NZ but dunno if they still deal in any of that shit anymore, part number 15879

Re: Question bout warn 8274
Another question....I have removed the brake set up so that its just the shaft and gears left.If I turn this shaft it freely moves the gears and drum on one of the winches and if I do the same with the other one it doesn't move at all,the drum doesn't rotate and neither do the gears...what is normal? If trying to figured out what's buggered

Re: Question bout warn 8274
Turns out brake shaft support bearing is rooted, causing winch gears to bind up and nothing to move as it should.
