Electric power steering pump

Post by Jafa »

I've got a Toyota MR2 (SW20) Electric power steer pump that I want to use for my rear steer, does anybody have any experience with these units, or done anything similar? What do you rear steer trials boys do?

I have repaired a few of those, They also use a bit of power to run.
Would it not be easier to use a control valve off of your existing pump. The Hicas control valves off of a Skyline would be cheap and easy to use.

Yeah I had thought of that, but the pump already runs a power steer box and a hydraulic ram assist setup, I don't want to bleed an more off it than I need to. It is a big motor for sure, electricity isn't a problem though
