Toyota denso pump question

Post by nakimud »

Hi, does anyone know if the rotary pumps as fitted to a 15B-F diesel engine have there own fuel lift pump installed or do I need an electric fuel pump. Has the regular priming setup as found on a 3B etc. Cheers :P

As far as I am aware the injector pump does it all....
There is no harm adding an electric lift pump.

Cheers I will try it without. I think these pumps also have some sort of ecu driven injection timing solenoid too which is going to be the next pita

The ecu driven pumps really started with the 1kzte and the 2lte. The older toys had good old fashioned pumps. Some may have a feed back unit like a tps the activate emission controls.
Even the ecu type pumps don't use a lift pump... Well the 1kzte and 2lte don't.
Throw up a pic of the pump and we can see if it's old school. Also googling the part number on the side and find info of the pump and even overhaul manuals.
