Have a read thru this chart.

Depending on year and if 10 or 12 bolt... you could be in luck...

yeah so long as it isn't a later model 70# cruiser with the small 8" front diff they will swap straight over :D

Whats the deal w the gears on those? ie do they run reverse cut front gears or can you just swap the whole 3rd?

later model cruisers had the same 3rd( high pinion version) that's in the 80 series cruisers, easier to tell too as the axle itself is more square looking like the 80's. Not sure of the cut off but I think it's around 90-91 and most cruisers earlier than that have the 9.5's front and rear..

Looking through the chart from kbushnz (thanks verry helpfull) it looks like it will fit it's a 86 with 9.5 inch front and rear untill I read the print under

Does not fit some 1986-1995 manual hub models with larger 33mm [1.30"] dia. 27 spline axle shafts.

Just measured my old axals the shaft 31mm and the spline is 33mm I have 30 spline super set chromos in it but assume the measurement would be the same rendering this idea a FAIL ??

if they're both 9" diffs which they should be if its a 1986 model they'll swap straight over no probs, the 30 spline superset axles are only a different spline count at the hub end the diff end is still the same :D
