There's a Jeep Wrangler running them in the local club & they go pretty well. I looked at them, but the price put me off. Goodyear MTR's or Maxxis Bighorn would be worth a look - Beaurepaires & Delta 4WD respectively. Beaurepaires will drop their price heaps with a little pressure - I showed them a quote from Tony's & they matched it...

Thats interesting to hear. Ive been running Discovery St's for about 18 months now. Think they are fantastic, not a total mud tyre, but Im impressed with offroad, gravel, and tarmac performance. Now Im looking at 33's simply because Ive done a lift, and wanted to look a the Stt's!
So would be good to hear your thoughts also.
Dont know price yet, although the St's were just ovet 1k. So I suspect stt's will be about 1.3k maybe?

Phew, that's expensive.
I ran a set of the older type of STT's. They wore out quite fast. The STT is one of their only tyres Cooper won't give an 80000km warranty on. I didn't get much more than about 30000km out of my set of 5 but I didn't pay $460 odd dollars per tyre either.
On the plus side they performed quite well, was always amazed where they got me and never had a puncture.

Ive been looking at the myself.
Found a place in the UK that sell them for 100 pound...about 300 each...so im a bit puzzled as to why they are 500 here..as they are US made & freight cost should be similar....but saying that ours are sourced from Aussie apparently.
Was talking to a guy in a 70 series Long wheel base cruiser he was a linesmen & took his truck to some pretty wild places & couldnt speak highly enough about them.He really liked how they had real strong "Armoured" side walls & allowed him to carry bigger loads without so much sidewall diflection & as for traction he can now go some places without chains he previously needed to fit them.

A mate here put some on his 78/79 series 'Cruiser 'cos at the time they were all he could get in a decent mud tread. (like 4 months ago)
(He's a contractor who spends a sh*t-load of time in boggy, muddy paddocks fixing/building/repairing fences)
He changed them off the truck for Pirelli Scorpions MT's (now they are available in a 16" size) just before he went to the Waikaia weekend trip just gone.
The STT's have worn quickly, haven't got the same initial tread depth, and need a lot of speed/spin to clear the crap outta the tread.
He reckons the Pirellis are a far better tyre, having previously run them on his Hi-lux, and says he wouln't go back to the Coopers again
He may even want to sell his old STT's. I could check if you are keen
Too much cost for me
But it's all horses for courses as they say.
